LA HUACACHINA

COUNTRY: PERU

  • Few would say that this splendid landscape of white dunes to infinity is found in Peru, but this is the destination of an unforgettable experience full of adrenaline: a buggy trip with descent in sandboarding through the dunes of the Huacachina desert
  • The feeling of going down one of the biggest sand dunes in the world with a surfboard is something I will never forget. Gliding through the virgin dunes of the beautiful desert of Huacachina, in the Peruvian region of Ica, is one of the many activities and options you have for active tourism in Peru.
  • The desert of Huacachina is located 3 kilometers from the city of Ica and I have to admit that I did not expect to find such a beautiful and immense desert, a huge expanse of white sand dunes that are only stained with an emerald oasis. Huacachina is one of those wonders of nature that few know and can visit without suffering the usual tourist agglomeration of the magical places of our planet.

Buggy and sandboarding excursion

Sandboarding is usually contracted with the buggy tour, because somehow you have to reach the high desert, where the vastness and height of the dunes can make you think about the decision to launch or not with surfing … you must be brave and try it. It is an unforgettable experience and easier than it seems!

ARAN ISLAND

COUNTRY: IRELAND

ENJOY MY VIDEO…. (dont worry I did not fall)

The Aran Islands are a group of three islands located at the mouth of Galway Bay in Ireland. They are the last three pieces of land that are found in the ocean on the way to America. They are defined by two main characteristics, by its rugged landscape and by possessing the ancient secrets of Ireland. Due to its harsh climate and inhospitable landscape, its lands have been little invaded and its people have managed to preserve the culture of ancient Ireland, therefore, they are still mostly spoken Gaelic in them.

How to get there?

The archipelago can be accessed by air through the company Aer Arann. Also via ferry from Roosevelt, which is north of the bay or from Doolin. We opted for the ferry from Doolin, a small town next to the cliffs of Moher on the west coast of Ireland.

When you get to land you can, as a little girl, start your tour on foot, rent bicycles in a small establishment that is in the port just down from the boat (for about 10 euros a day by bicycle) or rent a horse drawn carriage, whose coachman will take you all over the island explaining the peculiarities of it. In the larger islands there are also tours in vans.

Tip:

There are several panels that indicate the route and the different points of interest. ENJOY IT!

Blarney Castle

COUNTRY: IRELAND

-Garden and Kisses-

Check my video:

Built in the middle of the s. XV, the castle of Blarney is in the locality of the same name, in the county of Cork, to the south of Ireland. You have to pay for the entrance 😦 , but you will noy regret it!! Explore this castle and the lovely gardens that surround it.

The castle is partially in ruins, but there are still some rooms that can be accessed. I climbed on top, first to admire the breathtaking views of the gardens and the small town of Blarney, at the foot of the castle, and also to see the famous «stone of Blarney», the stone of eloquence. According to the legend, everyone who kisses this stone will get the gift of eloquence for the rest of his life.

The castle gardens really are worth a visit ♥

HEY!!!
DO NOT FORGET TO KISS THE BLARNEY STONE!

San Andres Island

COUNTRY: COLOMBIA

SAN ANDRES ISLAND
-Best things to do-

For many, the archipelago of San Andrés could well be paradise. Islands surrounded by beaches of silky white sand where the sea seems to change color, from blue to green and lilac, which contrasts perfectly with the Caribbean environment of the area
In San Andrés you can enjoy unique experiences. You can swim among stingrays and dive on coral reefs over 30 meters high, enjoy walks through deserted beaches, a unique climate and reggae music.

Best things to do:

  • West View —> this is free but you need to take a bus or taxi to get there! This should not be more than $10.
  • Playa de Spratt Bight –> This is free, but you need to a boat to get there! This should not be more than $15.

If you have more time…

  • Jardin Botanico de San Andres —-> This is totally free, wohoo!!

Giant’s Causeway

COUNTRY: IRELAND

GIANTS CAUSEWAY
– story and tips-

The Giants Causeway is the most spectacular place along the Coastal Path of the Giant’s Causeway, but not the only one, it is also amazing the Carrick-a-Red Rope Bridge and the Dunluce Castle.

The story tells that a long, long time ago, there were two giants. One called Benandonner, who lived in Scotland. And another, Finn MacCool, who lived on the coast of Ireland. These two giants, never got along, so one day, Benandonner decided to make an unfriendly visit to Finn. And he built a way to join the coasts by throwing huge rocks. The wife of the giant Finn, found out what her enemy was proposing, and to save her husband, decided to disguise him as a baby. So when Benandonner came to Ireland and saw that huge baby, he went out in a panic about the size of his father. So much was the fear that he had to sink the stones he had placed, so that Finn could not cross to the other side of the sea.

TIPS:

  • Go with good shoes
  • Bring your bottle of water
  • Be aware of the different trials : red, yellow, red and blue.
  • Take your time. It is a unique space. Do not hurry. Jump through the rocks, look for columns of different shapes, feel the sea breeze, look for the chair of desires … In short, it is such an extraordinary landscape, that it is worth to enjoy it to the fullest
